Suffocation: The Prevalent Occurrence of Smog
Smog: A fog made heavier and darker by smoke and chemical fumes; A photochemical haze caused by the action of solar ultraviolet radiation on atmosphere polluted with hydrocarbons and oxides of nitrogen specially from automobile exhaust. -Merriam Webster
California is the state with the worst smog production. In counties like Riverside, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Kern, and Fresno, smog can be seen daily depending on the season. Additionally, global warming makes smog worse since the heat from sunlight contributes to the chemical reaction. Smog affects the development of lungs in children, causes asthma attacks, and puts a strain on the heart. All this when simple solutions are there to prevent such a suffocating occurrence.
